

Dr. Frank Rossi is one of the world’s leading experts on turfgrass science. Dr. Rossi is the associate professor of Turfgrass Science in the Department of Horticulture at Cornell University and a visiting professor at the Swedish Agriculture University in Alnarp. He also serves on the board of directors of the International Sustainability Council.
Rossi has spent more than 35 years in the turfgrass industry and is at the forefront of the golf industry as a researcher, lecturer and former superintendent who specializes in the ecological aspects of turfgrass science. He’s made environmental sustainability a hallmark of his career. In 2011 Green Media Publications sited Rossi as one of the “10 Most Influential People in the Green Industry”. In 2001 he was recognized by Golfweek Magazine as one of the “40 Most Influential People in the Game of Golf under the age of 40”.
Both Frank Rossi and Jeff Carlson are on the cutting edge of the effort to improve environmental compatibility and economic feasibility of turfgrass management systems.
Dr. Rossi was the lead turf consultant for the 2002 and 2009 US Open Golf Championships at Bethpage Black. Rossi, a.k.a. “The Turf Guy”, has also served as the lead turf consultant for the New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers.
Rossi is currently working with other members of the Larkin Group to select the proper grasses for the Olympic project in Rio de Janeiro.
