David B. Fay is the Special Projects Liaison for the Larkin Group. Fay served as the Executive Director of the United States Golf Association for 21 years and spent a total of 32 years serving the organization. He is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading authorities on the Rules of Golf.

David Fay has been a longtime advocate of making the game of golf more accessible to all by expanding the number and diversity of its players and fans. As Executive Director of the USGA he significantly expanded its philanthropic activities through grants and internships to make golf more affordable for more than two million disadvantaged youth and individuals with disabilities.

One of his lasting legacies is bringing the U.S. Open to Bethpage Black, the first public course to ever host the national championship. Says Fay, the former caddie, ”I was a public golf course kid growing up, and in the back of my mind I always hoped we’d get the Open to a real public golf course.” Since the success at Bethpage it has been hosted by many.

Fay also served as Joint Secretary of the International Golf Federation with whom he worked tirelessly to get golf back into the Olympics for the first time in 100 years. “Golf in the Olympics could grow the sport worldwide. In order to jump start interest and support for golf there’s no substitute for it being an Olympic medal sport.” Fay has gotten his wish and golf will be an Olympic sport in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
