Projects

We focus on environmentally sustainable mixed-use projects, with golf as a central focus.

Water Reclamation

The Larkin Group is participating in testing for the treatment of oilfield produced water originating from the Sentinel Peak Resources (SPR) Lompoc production facility. If the tests are successful, the water would be useable for irrigation initially and potentially drinking water. The pilot program will utilize proprietary hydrodynamic cavitation technology developed by Brightwater HDC, Inc. at Stanford University to demonstrate the feasibility of generating usable water from produced oil water.

Vandenberg Dunes

The proposed public golf courses on Vandenberg Space Force Base were to have been developed by The Larkin Group and acclaimed golf course developer Mike Keiser, whose organization has built some of the top golf destinations in the world. Unfortunately the Vandenberg Dunes project has been terminated because the Air Force cannot provide sufficient groundwater. The Larkin Group is researching other sources of water that would support projects like these and potentially provide other community benefits in the future.

Vineyard Golf Club

The Vineyard Golf Club course winds through 235 acres of naturally rolling land and blends seamlessly within the bucolic setting of Martha’s Vineyard, an island off the coast of Massachusetts. The Vineyard Golf Club is one of the few 100% organic golf courses in America. This forward-looking approach to the agronomy of golf makes the Club stand out among its peers. Owen Larkin was the managing partner of the team that designed and built the Vineyard Golf course.

2016 Olympic Course

The 2016 Olympic golf course in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was designed and built by Architect Gil Hanse, winner of an international competition in which he partnered with the Larkin Group as Sustainability Managers. “I’m extremely pleased to be able to marry Gil Hanse’s aesthetic with the Larkin Group’s model of environmental sustainability,” said CEO, Owen Larkin. We think this will be a rare opportunity to present golf and sustainability on the international stage.

Colorado Springs, Colorado

This Colorado base is the headquarters of Space Command, the nerve center of the United States Air Force Satellite and Missile Defense Systems. As communications move increasingly to the skies, the need for office space at Peterson Space Force Base is growing exponentially. Renuart & Larkin worked on a master plan to free up the necessary land for expansion by moving the existing golf course off-base to a nearby location.

Cape Canaveral, Florida

Renuart & Larkin worked with Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) and Port Canaveral to maximize the efficiency of these two vital properties on Florida’s east coast. The Air Force was looking for new, innovative ways to keep their facilities up to date and technologically secure. R&L brought together a team of rail and military development specialists to reposition this asset, benefitting the Air Force, the Navy, and the Port, which was interested in increasing its cargo capabilities.
